Terms of Service

These Terms of Service are effective as of January 1, 2025, and were last updated on January 30, 2026.

By accessing or using LeakGuard, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and LeakGuard.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. Your continued use of the service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.

LeakGuard provides a web-based audio watermarking tool that allows users to embed invisible identifiers into WAV audio files and detect previously embedded watermarks. The service is designed for musicians, producers, and content creators who wish to track the distribution of their audio content.

Access to watermark embedding and detection features requires an active paid subscription. The service operates entirely within your web browser. All audio processing occurs locally on your device. We do not store, transmit, or have access to your audio files or the identifiers you create.

LeakGuard offers three subscription plans: Monthly ($50 per month), Semestral ($180 per six months, equivalent to $30 per month), and Annual ($240 per year, equivalent to $20 per month). All plans provide unlimited access to watermark embedding and detection features for the duration of the billing period.

Subscription fees are charged upfront at the beginning of each billing cycle. All prices are in US Dollars (USD). We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable advance notice to existing subscribers.

All subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled before the renewal date. Your payment method on file will be charged the applicable subscription fee at the start of each new billing cycle.

Monthly subscriptions renew every month. Semestral subscriptions renew every six months. Annual subscriptions renew every year. You will not receive a separate confirmation before each renewal charge.

If a renewal payment fails, your subscription will enter a past-due status. During this period, we will attempt to process the payment using the payment method on file. You will be notified within the application to update your payment information. If all payment retry attempts are exhausted, your subscription will be canceled and access to features will be revoked.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings within the application. Upon cancellation, your subscription will not renew at the end of the current billing period.

After canceling, you will retain full access to all features until the end of your current paid period. Once the paid period expires, your access to watermark embedding and detection features will be revoked.

No refunds are provided for partial billing periods. If you cancel partway through a billing cycle, you will not receive a prorated refund for the unused portion. You are encouraged to make full use of the service until your paid period ends.

You may upgrade your subscription from a shorter billing cycle to a longer one at any time (for example, from Monthly to Semestral or Annual). Upgrades take effect immediately, and you will be charged a prorated amount reflecting the difference between your current plan and the new plan for the remainder of your billing period.

Downgrades from a longer billing cycle to a shorter one are not supported. If you wish to switch to a shorter billing cycle, you must cancel your current subscription and subscribe to the new plan after your current paid period ends.

You agree to use LeakGuard only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may use the service to:

• Watermark audio content that you own or have authorization to modify
• Detect watermarks in audio files that you have legitimate access to
• Track the distribution of your own creative works
• Identify potential sources of unauthorized content distribution

You agree not to use LeakGuard to:

• Watermark or analyze content you do not have rights to modify or access
• Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
• Engage in any activity that could damage, disable, or impair the service
• Attempt to reverse engineer the watermarking algorithm for malicious purposes
• Use the service to harass, threaten, or harm others
• Misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity

LeakGuard and its underlying technology, including but not limited to the watermarking algorithms, user interface, and documentation, are protected by intellectual property laws. We retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the service and its components.

Your use of LeakGuard does not grant you any ownership rights in the service or its technology. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for its intended purpose in accordance with these Terms.

You retain all rights to your audio content. Watermarking your files with LeakGuard does not transfer any ownership or licensing rights to us. We make no claim to your creative works.

LeakGuard is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

While we strive to provide reliable watermarking technology, we cannot guarantee that watermarks will survive all forms of audio processing or that they will be detectable in all circumstances. Factors such as heavy compression, format conversion, and audio manipulation may affect watermark integrity.

We do not guarantee that the use of watermarks will prevent unauthorized distribution of your content. The service is designed as a tracking tool, not a copy protection mechanism. Watermarks cannot prevent copying but may help identify the source of leaks after they occur.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LeakGuard and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the total subscription fees you have paid in the twelve months preceding the claim. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LeakGuard, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the service at any time, without prior notice, for any reason including but not limited to violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately and no refund will be issued for the remaining subscription period.

If your subscription is canceled or expires, you will lose access to watermark embedding and detection features. Any watermarked files you have previously created will continue to function independently of your subscription status.

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be resolved in accordance with applicable dispute resolution procedures.
